2009 Diamond Jubilee

Family Life Centre is a non-profit organisation (founded in 1949) which offers counselling, preventative / educational programmes, family & divorce mediation and training for individuals, couples and families throughout Gauteng. Our head office is situated in Parkwood. We have offices in The City Centre, Alexandra, Soweto, Westbury/ Coronationville, Lenasia Diepsloot and Ivory Park.

In honour of our Diamond Jubilee, Family Life Centre would like to introduce a project whereby you are able to remember loved ones, the special dates, Birthdays and anniversaries of those who are no longer here to celebrate with the families and friends. This project will enable you to use this memory to help benefit other families in our communities, societies and in disadvantaged areas to receive the support they need through the services Family Life Centre offers. It is well known that families are the corner stone of society. In South Africa our families have had many obstacles to overcome throughout the years. With the threat of crime, HIV/Aids and violence more families are in need of specialist services offered by professional organisations such as Family Life Centre. The need for our services is increasing at an alarming rate. We need to address the issues that families face, to stop the disintegration and build stable and secure family life in all our communities. Use your memories of happy times and those you have loved to help build the families of South Africa.

Any donation large or small in memory of an anniversary would assist us in making a difference.

Wish list

Our reception is in need of decorating. Couches and Chairs to replace our very tired furniture. Mediation Centre: Since 1989 Family Life Centre has been at the forefront in the development of mediation in South Africa. Recently there has been a big increase in the number of requests for Divorce and family mediation and legal information. The lack of office accommodation at Parkwood prevents us from expanding this service. To combat this we plan to make the cottage into a mediation centre. However we will have to move the Play Therapy room. We plan to erect a well equipped Wendy House in the garden which then will give us four rooms in the cottage.
